Announcing a New Class!

February 18, 2013

The Academy for Addiction Professionals is excited to announce a new class, which will be held in person and soon, online as well. Our computer skills class is an integral part of Professional Readiness. It helps addiction counselors document more accurately as well as gain valuable insight into how computer software can assist them in their careers. This class is helpful to those who are striving to achieve their certified counselor status or those who may be looking for hands-on and useful continuing education.

Our first 15 hour in person course was held from the end of November through the first part of December and was met with a great deal of enthusiasm from instructors and students alike. We’re very happy to report that it was an unequivocal success. The online version of the computer class will be posted in in January 2013.

The curriculum includes learning and implementing important skills in Microsoft’s Suite of Office products. Addiction counselors and behavioral techs can benefit from a strong grasp of word processing as well as spreadsheet creation and presentation development. Further, students will learn more about resume building and proper documentation formatting.

This new class can help novices and seasoned counselors alike as all of our skills can be refreshed and honed. We look forward to continued success with this and every one of our classes. For more information, please navigate our website or feel free to give us a call.
