May 4, 2018

The Academy for Addiction Professionals is pleased and excited to announce our newest Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) course dates. Our next course spans two weekends – July 7th & 8th and 14th & 15th at our classroom in Fort Lauderdale. We are also pleased to extend our special pricing to students who sign-up and pay in full by June 20.

The CBHT is useful for those looking to get into field of addiction treatment, whether they have been in recovery themselves or not. This certification, administered by the Florida Certification Board, is also ideal for current Behavioral Health Technician that wish to expand the scope of their knowledge and show their employer new and important skills that may lead to greater responsibilities and opportunities within the industry.

The CBHT is at the front line of client care. As the daily liaison between clients and clinical staff, the CBHT not only ensures the welfare of those under their purview but are also give the clinical staff critical insight into a client’s willingness and ability to participate in their recovery process. CBHTs are bound by the same ethical rules as other clinical and administrative staff.

Spending time as a BHT can be an important formative experience for future counselors. In fact, many counselors have started their careers as Behavioral Techs as being at the front lines of addiction treatment offers perspective that simply cannot be learned in the classroom or in a textbook.

We look forward to welcoming you to our next CBHT course and we also look forward to having you meet our newest instructor Carly.
