The Certified Recovery Residence Administrator (CRRA) designation is designed for individuals who have the responsibility for the oversight of a recovery residence's operations, including the safety of the residents and the integrity of the recovery environment. This professional certification validates the specialized knowledge required to lead housing programs that transition individuals from treatment to sustainable independence.
Moving beyond basic facility management, the CRRA program focuses on the leadership skills and ethical standards necessary to maintain a high-quality recovery home. It ensures that administrators are equipped to handle the complex intersection of administrative duties, resident support, and community relations while upholding the highest standards of safety and care.

CRRA Eligibility & Requirements
Category
The Certified Recovery Residence Administrator (CRRA) is a professional designation for individuals responsible for the daily operation of recovery residences.
Degree
Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) is required for this certification level.
Work Experience
Applicants must document 1,000 hours of work experience specifically within the recovery residence field.
Supervision
A minimum of 40 hours of on-the-job supervision by a qualified professional must be documented and submitted.
Required Training
Completion of 50 hours of content-specific training across the following domains:
• Domain 1: Operations (15 Hours)
• Domain 2: Administration (15 Hours)
• Domain 3: Resident Care & Support (10 Hours)
• Domain 4: Professional Responsibility (10 Hours)
Criminal Background & Ethics
All applicants must pass a criminal background check and sign a formal agreement to uphold the professional Code of Ethics.
Recommendations & Testing
Submission of three professional letters of recommendation and successful passage of the Board-approved Written Test are required for final certification.
Renewal
Certification must be renewed every two years by documenting 40 hours of relevant continuing education credits.
