Core Eligibility Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 500 hours of volunteer or paid work experience in a recovery support role.
  • Completion of 40 hours of board-approved training specific to recovery support.
  • Signed agreement to the Peer Recovery Support Code of Ethics.
  • Documented person lived experience with recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder.
  • Achieving a passing score on the standardized board-administered written CRSS examination.
  • Submission of proof of residency and three professional references.
