Substance Abuse Certification Training California

The Academy for Addiction Professionals provides Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) level training to those seeking their certifications. As part of their CAP certification, addiction counselors may be able to take advantage of reciprocity with dozens of states in the US and countries throughout the world. This reciprocity is governed by the IC&RC and its member organizations including the Florida Certification Board. Prospective counselors may also be able to take a certain number of distance learning classes through the Academy.

For those who wish to take distance learning classes from California, we suggest that you fully understand the requirements as set forth by your local certification board, CAADAC, or California Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors. Tracing its roots back to 1967 in Los Angeles, CAADAC is one of the premier certifying bodies in the United States and a member board of the IC&RC.

Eligibility requirements, reciprocity rules and other considerations should be confirmed with California Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors before taking classes with us. Rules and regulations vary between certifications and states.

Please contact the IC&RC as well as the California Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC) to learn more about the reciprocal regulations between California and Florida as well as the requirements for certification. You may also contact us to learn more about our program and understand the steps you’ll need to take to ensure a smooth transition between certification boards and states.
